I have an android phone 4G when i recieve messages i want the screen to light up but it doesn’t ?

I want the screen to light up when I recieve messages..but I don’t seem to find any settings for this.

The stock messages app may not do that. Download a great replacement, like ChompSMS or GoSMS and use that, they are awesome and the screen will light up when you get a message.
